We only work with suppliers who share these ethical and quality values, allowing us to provide our customers with products that are not only beautiful, but responsibly sourced.
NIAMH
50% Merino wool/50% Silk
Available Weights: Lace, 4ply, Sport & DK
(Lace and 4ply available in Superwash or non-Superwash. Sport & DK Superwash only)
A luxurious blend of silk and merino combine to produce this beautifully soft base. Niamh means lustre, radiance and brightness, qualities which are all reflected in this sumptuous yarn.
The daughter of the Irish god of the sea, Niamh (pronounced “Neev”) was an beautiful princess who fell in love with with the human hero Oisin. They lived together for 300 years in Tír na nÓg (The land of youth).
Niamh has wonderful stitch definition and drape. It’s soft, flowing texture makes it the perfect match for shawls, sweaters, baby knits or any garment worn close to sensitive skin.
Please note that Niamh Lace & 4ply are available in Superwash or non Superwash merino options. The difference between the two versions are minimal, with the SW version having a smidge more drape and sheen. The choice is mainly down to personal taste, and we offer both to suit.

OONAGH
100% Superwash Merino wool
Available Weights: Lace, 4ply, Sport, DK Aran & Chunky
Soft, warm and scrummy. Oonagh (pronounced “oo-na”) is perfect for cosy, supersoft sweaters. This base loves to be dyed, producing wonderfully vivid colourways.
Oonagh’s fine texture means it’s ideal when creating warm garments for wearing close to sensitive skin.
According to Irish folklore, Oonagh was Queen of the Fairies, and wore a robe of silver and dew. She has also been seen as the Irish goddess of nature, love and relationship.

Gráinne
100% Superwash Blue Faced Leicester
Available Weights: Lace, Sock, Sport, DK & Aran
Gráinne (pronounced “Grawn-yeh”) has a slightly robust texture, making it a perfect choice for projects where retention of shape is important. The hard wearing and natural elasticity of Blue Faced Leicester wool makes an ideal yarn for knitting nylon free socks. All our Blue Faced Leicester bases are 100% British, and produced from small farms within the UK.
Gráinne was the Irish goddess of the grain, and it was believed that she protected seeds over the dark winter months.

Áine

Áine (pronounced "Awn-Ya") is perfect for anyone looking for a plant based yarn.
Named after the Irish goddess of summer, this light fingering yarn produces beautifully breathable fabric that's ideal for warmer weather garments.

Dún na nGall
Donegal Tweed

Dún na nGall (Irish for Donegal) is our tribute to the long heritage of Donegal’s world famous tweed.

We use two different bases in our Dún na nGall range:
For our sock weight, we’ve selected a beautiful blend of Blue Face Leicester and Donegal Nep. The natural elasticity of Blue Faced Leicester wool make this yarn perfect for knitting nylon free socks, but it works equally well for shawls, sweaters or most patterns which use this weight.
All our Blue Faced Leicester bases are 100% British and produced from small farms within the UK.
Our remaining weights combine supersoft Merino with Donegal Nep to produce this naturally speckled yarn.

DÚN NA NGALL MULTI
Multi-coloured Donegal Tweed
Available Weights: 4ply, DK & Aran
The multi coloured version of our Dún na nGall tweed.
SORCHA
72% non- Superwash Kid Mohair/ 28% Silk
Available weights: Lace
Named after the Irish word for bright, light & radiant, Sorcha (pronounced "sor-aka"), is our lace weight mohair/silk base.
Wonderfully versatile, this yarn can be used alone for light and airy knits, or combined with another yarn to add warm and structure.

EMER
100% non-Superwash Organic Merino wool
Available Weights: 4ply, Sport, DK & Worsted
Emer (pronounced "ee-mer"), is a beautifully squishable organic merino wool. It takes its name from the wife of an ancient chieftain in Irish mythology.
This fine base is wonderfully soft, making it the perfect match for next to skin garments and accessories.

DANU
100% non-Superwash Highland wool
Available Weights: 4ply, Sport, DK & Aran
Named after the Irish mother goddess of fertility, abundance and wisdom, Danu is a robust, hard wearing yarn. Providing exceptional warmth, this Peruvian Highland base is a perfect choice for cosy sweaters and accessories, while its structural properties make it a fabulous yarn for steeking.

BANBA
100% Superwash Merino Boucle
Available Weights: 4ply & DK
Banba is a super soft merino yarn. The boucle texture makes it incredibly versatile, allowing it to be used as a substitute in patterns calling for DK or worsted weights, adding a beautiful new dimension to plain knits. Two strands can be used for substituting in chunkier knits.
Named after one of the patron goddess of Ireland, Banba is the poetic Irish name for Ireland.
FIBRE
We stock a range of fibre bases for spinning and felting.
Our space dyed colourways are hand dyed in our Donegal studio, and our remaining fibre is custom dyed and combed by a UK based mill.
Our roving is machine combed, producing a beautifully even fibre top, while our rolags and batts are hand combed, blended and rolled in our studio.
